Lending his support to the efforts of BJP Manipur Pradesh to garner maximum seats in the ensuing ADC election, BJP National general secretary (Coordinator, NE States) Ram Madhav went to Tamenglong today and joined the party’s election campaign there.
A huge public rally of BJP candidates fighting for Tamenglong ADC was held today at Noney (Longmai) public ground.
Addressing the rally, Ram Madhav blamed the Congress Government which is in its third consecutive term for depriving people off the benefits of various welfare pro- grammes taken up by the Centre.
Stating that Tamenglong is endowed with the greatest pool of natural resources as compared to other districts of the State, Ram Madhav maintained that the district remains backward because there are many self-centred Congress leaders even though one Congress MLA elected from the district is the Deputy Chief Minister of the State.
BJP is neither communal nor sectarian as alleged by Congress and this was testified by the results of the last Lok Sabha election.
He then called upon the gathering to contribute their mites in uprooting Congress party from the country.
BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba, general secretary (administration) Th Ashnikumar, former Minister Samuel Jendai and BJP Manipur Election Committee member Adim Pamei also took party in the election rally.
