Aday after senior Congress leader Gurudas Kamat resigned from the party and announced retirement from politics, BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav attacked the Congress saying it only recognised two leaders and did not give credit to others. “The surname is important in Congress and the rest of the leaders are secondary. The party should first learn to respect other leaders,” he said.

He refused to comment further on the issue calling it the internal matter of the Congress. Madhav spoke to mediapersons at Vadodara airport shortly before his visit to Mehsana. He called PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the US a historic one and said, “The PM will address the American Congress and the visit will be a significant for India and the US. He will discuss key issues with President Barack Obama,” he said. He slammed Pakistan for not acting against Hafiz Saiyeed despite being declared a terrorist.

Madhav and other leaders including Suresh Prabhu were in Mehsana to celebrate two years of Modi government at the Centre. Prabhu, who had flagged off Lion Express tourist train on Sunday, said, “If Gujarat government wants, we can think of starting a tourist train on a revenue sharing basis, considering lion safari’s popularity. ” Prabhu laid the foundation stone for eight projects and also promised a direct train from north Gujarat to Mumbai.
